Materials scientists at the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB) – part of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cient\u00edficas (CSIC), the largest research organization of Spain focusing on basic and applied research – are developing new materials for information science and electronics.
\nThey study electrical transport properties of advanced materials such as lanthanum aluminate. They use a MicroWriter ML in their brand new clean room to pattern electrical contacts onto 5mm square chips of the material under investigation. Important in their choice of instrument was low weight and small footprint and the ability to handle individual chips as well as full wafers.<\/p>\n
